Research at the Department of History

Sponsored by the Department of History, four research centers provide a focus for several strands of research:

The Center for History and Policy, the Center for Business, Technology and the Environment, the Center for Africanamerican Urban Studies and the Economy (CAUSE), and the Center for Historical Information Systems Analysis (CHISA).

The Department of History is also a partner with the University of Pittsburgh History Department in sponsoring the Center for Social History.

Additionally, the department hosts a number of professional organizations and publications, including Social Science History, the official journal of the Social Science History Association, and the Labor and Working Class History Association (LAWCHA).
